It's Going To Be A Rough Night...

Hope people stay safe. I only ever recall windstorms one time but I'd just missed them apparently. On one of the first trips - a lot of Stanley park was down due to severe winds.
That was the year we had a 100' tree fall on our yard. It took out the power lines and missed our house by feet. It made one hell of a woosh wile it was falling and a big kerthump when it hit the ground. The base of the tree stump was 4 - 5' across. We still have lots of those left and that's what worries me so If you don't hear from me tomorrow night send the loggers to dig us out.

I visited Stanley Park about a week after that happened Siph and it was freaky. I had a bunch of pics and they didn't do the damage justice. The shots of that and our tree are on a H/D that's been taken out of my computer and I'm too lazy to put it back in.

yes... that'd be it... I am used to high winds and hurricane strength and it's always been a saying back home..

Tell " whatshisname " to quit being such a blowhard. ;)

So the wind hasn't really started yet. It's working it's way down the coast right now so all hell will probably break loose while I'm at work. With a bit of luck the power will go out there and I'll get off work early. I really don't feel like going to work today and could use a little time off just for the hell of it.

Hahaha.. I tell him to shut up all the time... but he doesn't.. :D

I saw the weather system on BT this morning.. looks like a nasty one.. *fingers crossed* that you get off without damage and for the power to go out for ya. :)

Hopefully the winds won't cause too much damage today. That's gotta be a heck of a scare, seeing a massive tree fall so close to your house!

I'd love to see those pics if ever you do put that H/D back in the comp. :)

No damage on the yard except for a bunch of small branches and a gazillion pine cones so I'll have to give the driveway a good blowjob again. We did loose two trees that are in the middle of a grove in one of the pastures. They were bigger around than telephone poles and they snapped off about 30 or 40 feet off the ground. They were dead so no real harm done.

The wind got pretty stoked about 9 am and by 11 it was haulin' ass like I've never seen before. The major part died down before 2 pm and all that was left was a real downpour which made sense cuz I had to leave the building and go somewhere for some work related stuff. Nothing like gettin' soaked to the bone just before I get off work. I heard on the news that lots of folks are without power but for once we didn't. :thumbup On the drive home I did see a bunch of fallen trees and the remnants of some that had hit on the road but someone has stepped up to the plate and got 'em off the road and into the ditch. :clap
