What is your guilty pleasure?

I don't like other people farting anywhere near me (if there's food) but if I do it to myself I piss myself laughing.
i was mulling over this too hip no shame in my game response when i saw this.

i had one of those moments dk described the other day when he realized i hadn't lied to him and since kimmy copped to this i can't not admit that i love farts.

mine, someone else's, i don't care. the louder, the funnier; the stinkier, the better. cracks me up when someone loses an sbd in a crowded elevator and everybody's trying either to keep from laughing or gagging while one guy looks at the floor. i'm laughing so hard writing this, i can't hold them in.

i especially love it when i cut a really big loud one in the bathtub that displaces a big mound of water before the bubble breaks.

like an oenophile, i have a very discriminating nose for the bouquet of flatulence. i can tell a lot about a person's diet by what their farts smell like. i avoid eating a lot of meat because it makes me so gassy and the farts so putrid-meat smelling. i can always tell when the meat and potatos gluttens have used a public crapper right before me. add an alcohol habit to that and the chemistry will clear a room.

i love it when i cut a really big loud one in the bathtub that displaces a big mound of water before the bubble breaks.

the sense of smell is probably the most taken for granted of all our senses. i'm so fascinated by different smells that i even like the smell of skunk so long as me or the dogs didn't get a point-blank blast.

i suppose i ought to close by saying it's time to spank my monkey and sleep for a few hours. great thread. thanks. :D

I don't sound like Danny Dyer either, I'm from a reasonably good area I guess.

Yeah, Britain is being ruined by the British: the growing number of intellectually challenged chavs and their "culture" they bring with them: ignorance, racism, bigotry, intolerance, violence etc etc. It saddens me, to be honest, I barely even recognise the country these days. Certainly not the people. I get sad at the mindlessness of British TV these days, how consumer driven the culture is, and how the people seem to hate each other.

Yeah pretty easy. There's a large english speaking expat community here, I know people who've been here for 15 years and don't know ay Spanish at all.

Right now tho things are tough, the costa del sol is bankrupt, so work is thin on the ground.

I had to use Danny Dyer as reference - he was the first 'chavy lad' I unfortunately thought of that had a Cockney accent, lol.

Do you know any Spanish?

I would love to reply to your comments about your country, but I don't feel I have the right to say anything negative about it because I was not born and raised in the UK. Perhaps if we knew each other a little better, it would be okay to discuss such a sensitive subject? And to be quite fair, my own country has it's fair share of ignorant individuals that give the rest of us decent members of society a bad rep, so who am I to comment on anyone else's country and their people?

My brother sounds like Danny Dyer. Odd, considering we grew up in the same environment. I guess it's an image thing.

I know some Spanish, I'm not fluent by a long way, but I can converse and stuff. Didn't take any lessons, juts picked it up over the years. It's a beautiful language, really expressive. I like it.

Hey just because you weren't born in the UK doesn't mean you can't give an honest opinion of the place. There's a lot about Britain I do like, some of the culture, the inventiveness of it, the music, that kind of thing. But if I see something I don't like I'm not going to stay silent on the matter. It's interesting to hear how outsiders find a country, so open up, let it rip, I say. You're probably in a better position than most to give an honest opinion of the country's shortcomings.

I have to concur with ed on the views of British society. There used to be more tolerance years ago but with the rise of groups like the English Defence League and such like- the sooner I can escape, the better. :)

back on topic - KFC and other junk food. I'm a sucker for KFC though...

A lot of food items that aren't 'healthy' I take pleasure in too. Varieties of cheese. Biscuits (cookie type things, rather than biscuits and gravy) too.

if you're planning a move, definitely learn some Spanish beforehand!

whereabouts are you thinking of moving to?

Oh definitely, we go there a few times a year as it is, I'm trying to learn Spanish but languages aren't easy for me! plus where our house is they speak Catalan!

Our house is just outside El Perello which is about a 20minute drive south of Salou, it's not a touristy spot at all which I love, it's pretty much all Spanish though there are a few British people like yourself who've moved there.

Is it Marbella you are? my parents have an apartment there

ed & Siphorous: I am calling it a day early today (in about 15 minutes) so I will reply to your posts tomorrow.:)

Have a great day everyone!
...Thank You so much for sharing all your 'Gulity Pleasures' with me and the rest of OT'z. <3

Ah ok you've already got somewhere, that's cool :) So you're in Cataluña then? Slightly harder to speak I think.

Yeah I'm in the Marbella area... I have lived in the town a couple of times, but it's so overpriced and I really don't like it - it's such a pretentious town. Right now I'm 20km down the coast in a much smaller little town called Estepona, much nicer and not to mention cheaper!

Yeah, though I think most speak Spanish as well as Catalan and it seems so pointless to learn Catalan when 20 min south and you're out of Cataluna!

I've been over to my parents place once and I have to agree with you about Marbella being over priced! Every shop seems to be designer stuff.

yeah it's funny really, Marbella gives itself this fancy image, but in reality, the town is bankrupt. Massive poverty, over 30% unemployment... it's really struggling... except the designer boutiques, there's always enough rich folk around to keep them afloat.

well, the time I was there was around 2005/2006 so it was still in "the good times"!! but I would imagine, it would have been hit hard alright, there's a fair few apartments in my parents complex for sale which have been so for ages, they couldn't build them fast enough a few years ago!

yeah they totally overbuilt the area, there are so many empty and unfinished apartments, it's so sad, especially given the increased number of homeless people around. They're ruined everything down here, a bunch of people got really rich and everyone else got screwed. A total free-market disaster.

And how are you finding things there now, work wise and that?

terrible, absolutely terrible. Over the past two years I've had 2 companies go bankrupt around me, leaving me with months of unpaid salary and a lot of debt. Just clawing my way back to zero now. I've started a company with a couple of guys here because there are zero employment opportunities right now.

that's terrible:( and how's your new company doing? what kind of a company is it, if you don't mind me asking?

we do web design, SEO, SMM and graphic design.

It's slow going, and we're looking overseas for work, but we've got some stuff in right now and the future seems a little brighter, but only because we're working for overseas companies - if we were touting for local business we'd be screwed!
