Hey - how longs do horses nurse?

It depends. We usually wean our babies at 4-5 months of age. Other people wait longer. In the wild, a mare may allow her foal to nurse for up to a year.

Well, our sixth mare foaled on the weekend while I was off. She had a colt. I am now 1 for 6 and the one mare I was around for died. :unsure: It's so frustrating that it's comical now. :surrender

I am unable to view the pictures here at work, but I am guessing the foals are pretty cute! I used to ride horses a lot and had the pleasure of watching one being born. They are so funny to watch while trying to get their legs under them. You have an amazing job
