Was this rude of me? *sarcasm*

I didn't find anything offensive, rude, or childish about her comment. It was all solid facts, she just didn't mention all sides of the cube. I.e: smart skinny people, stupid skinny people, smart fat people, etc...

You were the first one to to use any manners or act chldish by resulting to singling her out for her comment and using swearing, IMO. Sorry D. :D

wow, didnt know someones ability to multitask was cause for jealousy and offensiveness.

i jog and walk around the block a few times a day and guess what i have in my hand? MY KINDLE! im also listening to music on my ipod. OMG IM MULTITASKING! THE WORLD IS GOING TO END!! :willy_nilly:

its called peripheral vision and being aware of your surroundings.

And if one day a pothole or crack in the pavement appears, you'll be faceplanting right on top of that Kindle. :24: Hey, I have no problems w/ what people want to do unless it becomes a problem for ME (i.e. running out in front of my car b/c you're not watching where you're going and are instead reading a book or texting). No matter what anybody says, it DOES distract you from the task at hand.

The real question is, why did you get so defensive?

Was it the fatty comment?

I wonder if all of you would feel the same way if you ran into somebody with your car because SHE wasn't watching where she was going....for example...she was reading a book while jogging and ran right into your car...or your child...or your little white rose bush on the corner of your property....lol...I can't see it being done successfully myself....but whatever.

Fact is there ARE a lot of fat stupid people. Our country has stories all the time about how obese and poorly educated we are.

The truth hurts sometimes.

Yes it does hurt especially when I read stories about stupid skinny malnourished uneducated people to which there is also no shortage of. :D

Those are not good examples. IMO

If the person ran in front of a car the only thing that would piss me off were if the police blamed it on the driver.

As to the rest they don't appear to be life threatening.

Sadly this PC world we have devolved into ignores the fact that people can do stupid things and then shit happens.

Of course that is what SOME lawyers thrive on ;)

And many eat that up and look for a big pay off as a result

I would look for traffic before crossing a road. I think that's a given with anybody.
Except for stupid fat uneducated or skinny malnourished uneducated people that read books and shit when they're walking about. :homo:

Feisty Little Tart there's a reason people get hit by cars crossing streets and it isn't due to the fact they looked before they crossed.

In Mexico back in the 60's my parents witnessed a pedestrian get hit by a car.

The guy flew up in the air and when he landed he ran away as fast has he could.

Turns out down there at the time he would have been at fault no matter the circumstances. Which if you think about it makes sense. A person walking is aware of what is going on has a lot more control of the situation and should be able to avoid a car no matter what.

Waits for the usual suspect to bash me. :D

If you're reading then how do you even know that there's a road to cross?...lol...like I said before, I can multi-task with the best of them but if I have to take my book along when I go running or jogging, then it must be a good one I can't put down, if I can't put it down then it's the kind of book I'm gonna get all involved in...so much so that I can even forget where I am at times......even when I come to a moving car etc etc. It's about as safe as texting while driving imo....

I run all the time....you still need to watch where you're going, some would say that about driving too, doesn't make it so. That being said...safe or not...I just don't see many people doing it...lol..who reads while running? Why on earth would you do such a thing?

I read a magazine while walking on the treadmill...and it took me a LONG time to start doing that. You can be the best multi-tasker in the world, but reading while driving or walking or running is a stupid thing to do. Roads change everyday...potholes happen, asphalt cracks, dogs and cats get loose, whatever. And I have a job where I multi-task the entire time I'm there, so I am not someone who isn't able to multi-task, I promise.

I've gone running yeah, I have this road along the uni across the road from me that is very straight and boring. I wouldn't run while reading, but I have no doubt that if she's ran her course a million times over, her primary motor cortex probably already has her movements mapped out so she knows when to step her foot higher to avoid the bump on the pavement, for example. Who knows why she did it in the first place.

I can surf the net while I do the threadmill ...lol...I agree, even if you run along the same road everyday it's always different depending on other peoiple, weather etc. To read a book while doing it.....I mean, I run all the time and I just can't imagine it...lol...can you?

Nope, don't even know why anyone would WANT to. I only read magazines on the treadmill b/c it's not something I care to retain. I like to sit and enjoy a good book w/ no distractions so I can really get into it.

This reminds me of whoever it was that said in another thread that they can text while driving and not be distracted b/c they know the number pad and how many times to push the button to get to the letter they want. I can promise, if they were tested, they would test at a level showing a good bit of distraction.
