I was in school when the space shuttle exploded and they got us all into the library to watch the news about it when it happened. Did they do the same thing with you when 9/11 happened?

No Kidding? We got let out of work but then again I was in NY only a few miles away from the towers..
I was in the 6th grade when it happened, remember I was in 1st period science class when it happened.

I was 9 years younger than I am now....

my teacher kept one in his room, he always watched the news before class started.

I was 15. I was in art class at a high school in downtown Nashville. It was terrifying. I had never seen anything like it. I remember not getting home until after 8 that night because there was a bomb threat at the courthouse across the street. We had to stay at school late several times that school year due to stupid threats. I say "stupid" not because I was angry that we had to stay but because none of them were real. Unfortunately 9/11 fueled peoples desire to cause havoc downtown.

My mom had woken me up and thought it was a joke when she heard it on my brother's radio.
We turned on the news just moments before the second plane hit. I will never forget the feeling that image evoked. It was a long day worrying about family that worked in NYC.
