Just because it is "safe" in Nevada, doesn't necessarily mean it will work elsewhere. Prostitutes in Nevada aren't like Eastern European girls being duped into prostitutes against their will. I don't think legalising prostitution will make the problem go away, rather make the problem worse

How, exactly? If given a choice, I think people will choose to go to prostitutes regulated by the government. Thus driving illegal prostitution out.

Right and they don't get HIV / AID on the streets..

If they must use protection the chances are very minimal of getting HIV / AID in this type of environment and that has been proven.. Also if they must be medically tested, chances are they will be found right away and taken out of circulation right away and no longer be a danger to no one else. If they are on the streets, how long will they infect others, months, years before they fall sick ?

I think you are missing the point..

How would you know that a brothel is regulated by governments? Do you put signs up saying "This is Government regulated"? Even the savvy illegal ones will put up signs saying the exact thing

No they don't get HIV/AIDS on the streets? Where is your proof on that, because most prostitutes on the streets don't use protection.

You're acting as if the brothels should be treated as the porn industry? That person who you take out of "circulation" would still need money, are brothels going to provide the prostitute with compensation? I see if that happened, that they will go right out of business, and we would be back to square one where they go out on the streets again to try earn a living

It is already illegal in most states/countries, thank goodness for that. And in the UK, if we paid for sex and were found out, the person paying for sex will get prosecuted for it :thumbup

lol, you need better arguements than this. All over the world there are licensing signs up for bars, restaurants, theme parks, taxi ranks, taxis themselves.... Maybe you didn't see them?

Do you have a moral problem with prostitution, because your legal problem with it is unfounded and inconsistent.

Where did I say prostitutes on the street do not use condoms ? What I said is that in legalized places they must wear them. Big difference..

OK so back to my point.. If prostitutes are properly taken care of and not on the streets, they are less likely to do drugs, get other infections and be under age.

How are you going to watch them 24 hours a day/365 per year? Are you employ people who might take back handers to let slip the odd things that go on in there? Are you going to employ people who watch customers put a condom on?

Actually that was part of the point...that local massage parlors were using Craigs List to recruit young girls under the guise of "legitimate" massage and they were being turned into prostitutes and trafficked. It was very eye opening. I always just assumed that the amount of massage parlors we had around our area was normal...but we have over 10 times the number of massage parlors in Macon (population of about 100 thousand) that they have in Washington, DC!!! CRAZY!!!

Still, cracking down on craigslist won't stop that. Unless massage counts as an adult service.... I've heard of stranger things
