You'll have to finish 5th now, that's the only European place, I think 4th might be beyond you but 5th isn't really. I believe Liverpool and Tottenham is scheduled for May 14th, week before the season ends, if you could get to within 2 points there and then win then you'll qualify.

I find Liverpool having generally poor players doesn't help, though I will say Suarez looks a good acquisition.

On the red card shown to Johnny Evans at the weekend, and having had time to watch it again and again and listen to people talk about it, I have decided that a red card probably was the right call. The ref has seen a coming together and he has seen that Holden (who has been ruled out for 6 months) on the ground with a deep gash on his knee, which is why I think he sent Evans off. However I think Holden probably should have gone as well, because he went in just as much as Evans, both players left the ground two footed, both were going for the ball, and both made contact with the other, it's just that Holden got injured and Evans didn't, had Evans had his ankle split open I truly believe Holden would have been shown red. What I will say is Evans is not that sort of player, and to my knowledge this is his first red card ever. I will also credit Bolton for not taking the bait given to them by MOTD on Saturday and just mentioned about their player. Also Johnny Evans has apologised to Holden and Holden has accepted it, saying the tackle (50/50) is part of the game. I think this is how you should handle these matters really, not the "he should be banned for life" that Arsene Wenger has a habit of spouting every time one of his players suffers a bad injury.

I'm glad the Premier League is back after the terrible distractions of the Internationals. We have West Ham at lunchtime, tricky game more than anything, they are battling down there and playing a bit better than a couple of months ago. But we really can't afford to drop points at this stage.

I think Woy does have a point, if you watch Liverpool you do see the former players watching in the stands and mention is made of them, and it can create pressure, especially if they are club legends. I'm not saying it's the whole reason why he failed at Liverpool, but it's one of them.
