We had a colt born yesterday morning and I went and took some pictures of him last night. He's a buckskin half-Arab.


I got a lot of pictures from this angle. He was very curious about me.


Haha, his ears are so fuzzy.





This filly was born a week ago. She wins the cute award on our farm so far. She's a tiny little thing and thinks she's really something.

Actually, all our horses are purebred Arabs except for the dam of that buckskin colt. She is a palomino half Arab/half Quarter Horse. I've never asked how/why they aquired her. The colt's sire is Bey Ambition (of course ) so I guess technically he's a 3/4 Arab. I was hoping he'd be a buckskin so I was pretty chipper to see him when I got to work last night. :cool

I was trying to get a nice head shot of the colt but he kept coming over to check me out. He was very interested in my camera for awhile and then he tried nursing on my nose. :24: Silly boy.

They generally like to take bits from each parent's name and create the foal's name from that. Not always, though. The owners want something "fun" for Splash's colt because he's a part-bred. Actually, Enchanted Ambition was one of my suggestions for the filly.
