This is just getting ridiculous

Add to that the ridiculous idea of boycotting Arizona Iced Tea (nevermind the fact that the company is from fucking New York), the city of San Francisco boycotting all travel to Arizona, and the whole ridiculous uproar over this. Yes, it's an absolutely horrible thing that a state stand up for itself and dare enforce the federal laws that exist and empower it's local law enforcement agencies to be able to do so. So horrible for a sovereign country to actually enforce its laws and protect its borders. How fucking dare they. Obviously, the entire Arizona state legislature are nothing but racists, and it's just like Nazi Germany as some radical leftists have claimed.

Now I hope Texas and New Mexico take Arizona's lead and enact their own laws along the same line, so we can force the federal government to actually do something about this and enforce our borders. We can worry about health care and a whole host of social entitlement programs that aren't under the purview of the federal government as set forth by the federal government, but it's taken a state saying enough is enough to force our porous borders and the people living in this country illegally to put this at the forefront of people's minds. The defense of our borders from invasion (and it can be argued that people entering the country illegally is a form of invasion) is part of the Constitution:

Article Four, Section Four, Clause Two: Protection from invasion and domestic violence
[...] and [The United States] shall protect each of them [the States] against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

 I don't get it. People are up in arms because you're supposed to prove that you're in the country legally? How is this discrimination? I agree, the whole thing is rather ridiculous. Perhaps I should file some sort of discrimination complaint. I was forced to leave Kentucky because I'm Canadian and couldn't get legal residency. Oh wait...this is for Latinos. My bad. :sarcasm

i dont think for one minute that your founding fathers whn drafting the constitution for one moment considered invasion as anything other than outright military invasion, i doubt that illegal immigration was even remotely considered HOWEVER i do maintain that Arizona should not be hindered in enforcing state law

We're a bunch of racist bastards here, so I've heard.

Frankly, I really don't give a shit who's here legally and who isn't. And if I don't like the way things are being handled here, then why not move?

And I will.
When I can afford it.

We have made ourselves so politically correct that a white person can no longer say anything without it being incorrect.. And we only have ourselves to blame..

Don't blame anyone else, its our own fault.. We did ourselves in..:clap

it's so freaking ridiculous that wanting to enforce laws and remove people that came here illegally is racist.

They're calling it racial profiling because what do you really have to go off of in asking someone for proof of citizenship other than their race?

Last I checked, no one's going to be asking me if I'm here legally.

I certainly would not mind having to show proof of identity or citizenship. I always have a copy of my birth certificate on me..

Heck it would make me feel proud of my country if they did make the effort to see who is here legally and not..

Not only that but it may find a few criminals at the same time but I guess that would be an "illegal" search tactic.. :sarcasm

which part is sarcasm, I sure as hell hope the whole thing was

Ok, here's the thing, being in the country illegally is... wait for it.... here it comes... ILLEGAL!

Now, the police don't have the right to walk around and ask every Mexican if they're here legally, you need to be doing something else wrong first, and if the officer things you're not legal, hes going to inquire.

Just like if you're pulled over for speeding, and the office thinks you're drunk, hes going to research it.

To clarify, he means that if the officer pulls you over and you can't speak a lick of English, chances are he's going to ask for proof of citizenship.

This new law is such a red herring it's pathetic.

First you need to see who it was that wrote this law... Yup, it's the law firm that defends the townships, municipalities, police, etc against lawsuits. And this law was written that everyone gets to sue everyone. Joe citizen now has the power to bring a lawsuit against the police or any other government worker that they feel didn't go far enough in determining if someone came to this country illegally. And who do you think is going to be the law firm that defends the city/municipality/cop/inspector/case worker/etc?

If the governor was so concerned about people who are in her state illegally then she would enforce the laws already on the books.
Arizona has a law that EVERY business no matter the size, must participate in e-verify for every employee. This system is 99.6% effective at keeping people that are here illegally from getting a job. Yet even though this is the law, fewer than 6% of businesses signed up to use the e-verify system.
So why doesn't she just enforce the laws already in place? If there is no work for those who are here illegally, then they won't come.

But it will be a cold day in hell before ANY republican will go after the employers.

Like I said, this new law is a joke, a red herring that will be shot down in court as unconstitutional.

AHA! So it's job preservation for the law firm. Now that's a conspiracy I can wrap my head around. Create an artificial emergency, provide the first means to fight, but not actually fix, the problem. That lawyer will be running a Washington program in no time. :D

True that, unless they're just passing through and not sticking around, or are involved in the drug and/or human trafficking business. But enforcing that law will definitely keep out the relatively honest ones who want to work and send money back home. Then the remaining ones would be the more easily identifiable criminals & could be rounded up with conventional means.

Couldn't resist, couldja? ;) Dems enforced that law previously, did they?

If it mirrors the federal law, as I've heard, then why would it be unconstitutional?
