2010 is like the first time I've EVER received a census form first of all. BUT I'm just stating that that commercial is corny as all hell.

It was less intrusive than I expected, but I HATE all the focus on race.
I sent it back only with the number of people in the house
everything else blank

oh and I got a friggin notice in todays mail that I should have received the census a few days ago.
So they send a notice you will get one in a week, then the census itself and then the notice you should have got one

It was probably part of that massive jobs bill, trying to keep the post office employed
I don't look at it as a joke. I look at it as something many have done before me and of course I plan to do the same. It's not a hard thing to do.
Some of our members have received a few of these over the years, some none, some just one. The last one done was in 2000. I know I was still in high school so this is my first one. Woo I'm all grown up now.

I agree with Sheyanne. It's not like there's a lot of questions and the stuff they ask, it's not really that hard to answer when you fill it out.
Here in Canada (Alberta anyways) they send people out to bang on your door to ask how many people are in the household and that's it.
They don't send anything in the mail aobut it??
Not that I can recall, they do leave a thing on the door if you're not home to answer though.
And then they try to come around again when you are home?
No, it's a mailer, just fill it out and mail it in.
I got one in the mail last week, it's already back in washington by now. It only asked my name and address (which "the man" already knows since I just filed my tax returns) and how many people live in my home.
this is my 1st year for it too!! LOL
I've had to do a couple so far. Jesus, what's the big deal? I'm very glad of the census when it comes to tracing my ancestors 100 years ago and it's a comforting thought that my decendands will be able to do the same thing.:thumbup
i think my roommate threw ours away
