Been a long time
I am not sure about when you could call it true happiness.
There have been the odd moments here and there but for anything prolonged not so much.

I wonder about this a lot as well, I know I do it.. It is rare that I will show that I am upset unless it is that serious, but even then I try not to bother other people with my problems so I put on a happy face and continue on with no problems.
The last time I can remember being absolutely 100% happy was lying out on the beach with my best friend just talking and enjoying the day. It was simple, but it was wonderful!

Couple months ago, on the glacier, everyone I was with I loved, and I was in one of the most beautiful places in the world... I was totally immersed and forgot about everything, I was so happy.

This is me too! Although, sometimes I think it is a false happiness because I am away from everything and too busy to think about anything but my work. Even if I started enjoying work because it was my 'out' from the real world, I have come to actually really love my job/school; the people are laid back and it is fairly drama-free for a work place, so it has come to be a happy place for me.
So, that isn't sad.. You should be in a job that you enjoy, that is a really good thing! It is just we want there to be other times you are happy too.. If that makes any sense >.<

Honestly, I'm happy probably 98% of the time. Every once in a while I'll catch myself bitching about something and I'll have to lecture myself. For instance, last year when we went to NYC and then DC, I walked so much that my feet were killing me and I had blisters on top of blisters, literally. I was complaining about it and then I thought "ya know what, you have those blisters b/c you were able to take a week long vacation to NYC and DC...and your feet hurt b/c you're blessed enough to actually be able to walk and to have feeling in your feet...some people aren't as lucky."
See...all a matter of perspective.

I am generally a very happy person.
However, fairly recent moments that stick out:
Getting the call telling me I got the teaching job I wanted (first time I ever cried because I was so happy)
Getting the call telling me my offer on the house was accepted
Getting married
Getting my two lovely dogs. I was giddy with excitement for weeks after.
