Alien Allen
Froggy the Prick
We all know FDR was a bad guy. Just ask a conservative...
He was no better or worse than most. But the liberals have him up on a pedestal so high that if he was a woman wearing a skirt it would be considered obscene

Good comparison. I will give you that. You mean like Republicans and Reagan?FDR despite conservative forces dead set against it gave the working class a chance.
The one conspiracy I actually think could be true is Roosevelt's knowing about Pearl Harbor beforehand, and allowing it to happen. I think it's entirely plausible, because despite everything else he'd done our economy was still in shambles, and there was increasing pressure from our European allies to help. Of course we'll never know, but it's possible.
Like I said, we'll never know. But there is a significant amount of circumstantial facts that add up:One word. BULLSHIT. You are like all the others who know nothing but the rumors and retold stories of his tenure. The fact is, like Bush, Hoover fucked America to the hilt, FDR rescued it. Say what you want but you are totally wrong in your second hand appraisals of his administration.
Sorry but there are a ton of economists that said his policies extended by up to 10 years the depression. And were it not for the war who knows how things would have recovered. His handling of events leading up to Pearl Harbor are suspect and open to debate but one thing for sure is he is to blame for leaving Pearl Harbor defenseless and unprepared. There were too many warning signs. Unlike 911 when we had clues something was up there was no telling where. With Pearl Harbor it was like a bulls eye and he had to know it would be attacked yet did little to have us prepare. One word. BULLSHIT. You are like all the others who know nothing but the rumors and retold stories of his tenure. The fact is, like Bush, Hoover fucked America to the hilt, FDR rescued it. Say what you want but you are totally wrong in your second hand appraisals of his administration.
and Reagan was the liberals anti christFDR is THE anti-christ of conservative philosophy. I won't try to project how long the depression would have lasted with or without his policies, but what his administration did was give the working class a break, something conservatives kick and scream about because it would cost some of those precious business profits that can't be afforded for the sake of the peons.
and Reagan was the liberals anti christ
gotcha
you betcha![]()
You must have been one of those brainwashed ones that escaped from JonestownI voted for Reagan... that was before I completely understood the agenda.![]()
He was an arrogant man who came from wealth.
What abt Obama's quotes?
Or for that matter Sarah Palin's quotes?
nice avatar...notat least he voted.......
Well, just a thought, but if you didn't want a debate and just wanted to post quotes maybe you should've put it in the Inspirational Thoughts section (which I believe even has a thread for quotes) instead of in the Debate section (where the trolls like Allen and myself hang out).So glad the quotes have made an impact on you people. I just posted them as objective points regardless of who said them.
As in they are nice quotes that could make us reflect. and be POSITIVE.

Fair enough. You may not like the following any better thoughPHILOSOPHY and Debate
as in we can take these quotes as philosophy for our lives
and everyone is going offtopic
not many of you are actually talking about the validity and relevance of the quotes themselves
I Thought these quotes which I saw on FDR's memorial very fitting to apply to today:
I never forget that I live in a house paid for by the American people and that I have been given their trust. Hell his family darn near owned the country and did a lot to throttle the common man from furthering themselves. Kind of like the Kennedys and their ilk but I digress. Anyway I guess that trust only went so far since he tried to get away with putting 5 people of his choice on the Supreme Court as the current one had turned down several of his ideas as unconstitutional.
We have faith that future generations will know that here, in the middle of the twentieth century, there came a time when men of good will found a way to unite, and produce, and fight to destroy the forces of ignorance, and intolerance, and slavery, and warInspiring sure but similar things have been said by others so nothing special there.
I propse to create a civilian conservation corps to be used in simple work...more important, however than the material gains shall be the moral and spiritual value of such work. Oh the hand wringing. It fits right in with the fireside chats don't it. Such a kind an benevolent chap who came from uncommon wealth.
We must scrupulously gaurd the civil rights and civil liberties of all citizens, whatever their background, we must remember that any oppression, any injustince, any hatred, is a wedge designed to attack our civilization. Yeah he really and I mean really watched out for the Japaneese Americans didn't he. Why he was such a kind fellow he even gave them free room and housing.
I think he is now my favorite president.I think he sucked :24:
I don't really see it as being offtopic. You posted quotes from FDR, and FDR is being discussed. It may not be the way you intended the conversation to go, but it's still a relevant discussion.PHILOSOPHY and Debate
