So are we saying the fellowship are the disciples?

Who was sacrificed as Jesus....Sean Bean!!?

The story revolves around the destruction of a ring that represents evil intent....where the bible version of the ring? The technicolour coat?!!

I say they were both great movies but neither is based on any fact LOL

ok....tolkein fought at the somme......the dead marshes represent that

frodo and sam were based on an american explorer going to one of the poles.......as his no2 he chose a black man,unthinkable in those days.....the no2 was ready to give his life for the explorer because he had faith in him.....theres loads more that i'll have to think about

Having read The Silmarillion - I'd say the first parts are very similar to the Genesis creation account and so on.

It's a fantastic book too for anyone that loved reading LOTR. Great backdrop and history. :nod:
