ESPN's sole survivor Barry Melrose agrees that the network (ESPN) should have renewed the contract with the NHL; but when ABC pulled the plug on Monday night football it kind of showed the direction the network was going. popular sports, and popular figures...and unfortunately the NHL doesn't have a household name...if there was someone with the insane popularity of Lebron James....the NHL won't get an audience

i think in time sid the kid will be a household name. maybe i'm crazy for thinking that.

ESPN is a joke. i honestly cannot understand how someone can sit through an entire baseball game on ESPN rather than flipping over to Vs. and catching playoff hockey (arguably the most exciting sport to watch)

sucks b/c ovechkin is the exact type of star that the nhl needs to be pimping in the playoffs
In a way but he plays wrecklessly. He will not last long that way.

Face it the NHL have made Cindy <<<<<...... I mean Sidney the focus of the league. They want him in the finals.

the greatest current player is Crosby (a Canadian) playing for a team owned by the greatest player EVER to play the game (who also is Canadian)

Caps need to learn to saty out of the box and check more - Pens bossed that game

The slashing call severely costed the Caps in the first period, before that I loved how desperate they were for the puck but after that giveaway after the first goal shown how the game would play out, yawnnnn

Cindy is a putz

Get over the media driven adulation.

As to your team owner he was very good. Up in the top 5 for sure

But he did not play enough to be the greatest.

And you should get over the Canadian bit as being the deciding point. Zetterburg and Datsyk are equal to Cindy.

btw, I hate how Canadian players are sooo elite and sooo much better than everybody else just because they're from Canada... *rolls my eyes*
