So if we run my thread your way: does anyone else have a word for my definition other then genuine?

Someone who does not allow emotions and desires to control them self.

In a debate you can always disprove but you need an alternative to support.

It's all in good jest, my friend! I was just thinking that when I was a kid most 19 year-olds were mostly virgins and didn't even know where the block was, never mind being around it. You have my sympathies. When I was 19 all I could think of was girls (and my motorcycle) but didn't know what to do about them, or with them. The last thing I thought about was respect. All I wanted to do is get their pants off. What happened after that was a bit fuzzy! :(

Genuine people? I have learned that putting on airs (or as is commonly referred these days as "attitude" or being "cool") won't get you squat with a girl. Some, yes, but they are just a few messed up just as some guys are. Trust me when I say with 54 years of experience that the only thing that counts in life when trying to interact with others is honesty - be yourself. Any person that shows disrespect when you are being open doesn't deserve your time. Tell them goodbye and move on.

i think i am understanding what you mean. I think you mean men who are honorable and are not out to screw (over) tons of women with one night stands? is that what you mean? i think i understand. I also dont like guys who are vain and shallow and have the goal of having more women under their belt than the other guy.

But does any of that make them less genuine? If they're not trying to hide who they are, it's still genuine imo.

Its trying to beat out other people to validate yourself. Comparing yourself to others. And glorifying something petty.


My direct definition of what being genuine is: Being true to yourself and to others.



What is your definition dt3?
