your thoughts on abortion?

should be illegal but considered for extreme cases. for example, a teen girl (or any girl) is raped and becomes pregnant, now what? the situation was already traumatic for her and she probably wants to move on, but now she will always have a kid to remind her. i say it is ok for an abortion here. now say the town whore gets preggers and wants out for time and money's sake, hell no. the kid has a right to life. life has been finalized and defined as time of conception. that is when the sperm and egg meet. so the baby form conception to birth is still considered "alive". when someone makes a mistake of getting pregnant without being prepared, that is what adoption is for. yes, adoption is also for orphans, but many orphans are orphans b/c they are not wanted by birth parents...
others say life doesnt start until the baby is completely separate from the mother (birth) b/c the baby in its fetal is not able to reproduce... now id like to challenge this point. it is a liberal point that they always bring up in a debate but it is challenging to other forms of life... a caterpillar is alive? agreed? but it cannot reproduce until it is in a totally different state of butterfly. now some argue that these life cycles are different than human life cycles, but it is very similar except human go through the "stages" inside the mother, and caterpillars do it outside... so caterpillars are born in a state of not being able to reproduce (reproduction is one of the 6 definitions of life...) but humans are born in the state to reproduce, it just takes time to mature. sp with a liberal definition, caterpillars are not alive... hmmm.
well that point was of partial birth abortion and late stage abortion. you cant just kill a baby at the last minute, b/c it is murder!

The three reasons usually given for an abortion to be ok are rape, incest, and if the mother's life is in danger. I agree with those, but if it's any other reason they should have the kid and put it up for adoption. That's just what I think.
although i am against it in my own mind, i kind of think that its the womans choice IF its early in the pregnancy. if it is (i mean early enough not to be defined as murdering a human) , then what right does anyone have to tell a girl what to do?

i would say that only in rape or mother's life is endangered that it would be ok for the women to decide during the time until the baby/fetus/whatever has a heartbeat (unless the heartbeat starts real early..in that case, the first 30 days... idk, i never had to deal with this )
but other than that, i would say that abortion is not acceptable, because it was a choice for both parties to :hump ... so they would be forced to take make do with the results of their actions.

I'm 100% pro choice... but I think partial-birth, late stage abortions should be illegal (unless the mother's life is at stake). I know with my belief structure that I should be pro-life... but the teachings say that one has free-will and must be able to choose their own path in life. How dare I tell you what is right for you?

You contradicted yourself here. If your 100% pro choice, then it should not matter what stage it should be illegal. Listen folks, it's a simple argument. I think all should have a choice, this includes both parents. If both parents are in disagreement, then the kid should be put up for adoption because that is fucked up to raise a kid without one of it's birth parents and it's also fucked up to come back 3 years later and want child support. It should not just be up to the woman. I repeat this with conviction. It took two to create it, and two should decide its fate.

You are correct... I did not catch that. I was thinking as I was typing. I am pro-choice... with the exception of partial-birth. But I will stand that it is a personal opinion. I am not one to make that decision for others. I also agree that the father should play a role in the deciding of fate for the child. Thanks for pointing that out.

Just wanted you to know I wasn't trying to be an ass about it though, even though it may have sounded that way. Everyone has their opinions and I definitely respect that. I refuse to elect a president based on their beliefs on this topic though...
Oh.. no hard will taken. I did not proof-read it before I sent it. I guess for me it's just a personal distaste for partial-birth abortion.... I say it's merely personal because it's not my place to choose for others. So I guess I am totally pro-choice for the general population.

Abortion = Selfish Murder PERIOD!
Pregnancy is a gift from God. It’s a privilege, not a choice. There are many different methods to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. Condoms, birth control, ABSTENANCE, etc. I know there are “side effects” to birth control, condoms break, and yeah right…no sex. I’ve been married almost 10 years, with him for much much longer than that. I never became pregnant when I didn’t want to….and I was never on birth control.
I am not one of those “lets blow up the clinic” type of people. DUH that’s not right either. I also do not HATE those that have made the mistake of having an abortion either. The thing that I do not understand, and makes me sick, are the women out there having 2, 3, even 4 or more abortions. IT IS NOT BIRTH CONTROL. GET SOME SELF-RESPECT!!!!!!!
I also do not understand the women that abort their child after finding out they have Downs, or some other birth defect. When I was preggo with my baby who is now a perfect 9 mo old, my sonogram at 22 weeks showed a “marker” for downs. I was told that first they would do another sonogram with a more detailed machine, and the next step would be amnio. That would tell me 100% for certain if my baby did have Downs. At that point I could decide to abort. I was 22 weeks at first sonogram, the second sonogram I was 23 weeks, then amnio takes 2 weeks to get result. That would have put me at 25 weeks. I was absolutely astonished that I would be able to murder my baby even at such a late date. You can kill your baby as late as 26 weeks. Just to compare….my neice was born when her mother was only 22 weeks. Yes, she was in NICU for several months, but now she is 16, getting her license and ALIVE!!!
I’ll never understand how people can justify abortion. It is a choice. It’s a choice to have sex taking the chance to get pregnant, or even AIDS! It’s a choice to be responsible for yourself!!!

I could have some long post about how good abortion is, but I'll just keep it simple. (We all have different opinions on when life begins, and whether a the thing inside a womans womb is a "baby" or a "fetus" but we could debate semantics all day long and get nowhere)......so....... Shouldn’t you take responsibility for your actions?? Why does a baby have to die to save some whore…or no good man…who is unable to think and act like an adult from the horrible agony that is called a child.
