Dark, I thought I'd seen you say you were a Christian, do you consider god and the supernatural two different possibilities?
A lot of people would say god is supernatural.

I have "deja vu" a lot and you could not convince me it is not true I can even recall everything smells colors conversations places where people are standing the clothes they are wearing.

The universe, given time, dies and become's "born again". Kicker is, happens so many times, that there is a good probability that you're born again, leading the exact same life, and this is what happens when you have a "deja vu" moment.

Perhaps death isn't as long as we think it is given the time frame of the universe? A billion years can go by pretty quick when you're six feet under LOL

How does this work with your Christianity?

These responses are why I asked...usually with religion and lackthereof it seems pretty cut and dry what the parameters of one's thoughts could be, so it's interesting to see variation.

I'd love to say I have thought about it but I have not.
I would say GOD is not supernatural in what I think the word supernatural means
but If GOD were then that would be the instance where I would believe in that supernatural subject entirely
I'm am a full believer in GOD
I guess if the bible references the spirit or spirits as ghosts they I would say they probably do exist
I'm sure that the devil has his demons may they be supernatural as well
I guess when I was saying that what I had in mind is scary ghosts and demons
I would like the let them stay at bay by me oppressing the thought that those particular Errie things do not exist

Honestly, I don't have all the answers.

What I do know is that some of the most remarkable men I've met teaching the bible tell you that God gave you a brain, and it's not a sin to use it (your brain) if you have question.

Some of the most God touching moments I've ever had in my life was on multi day river trips in canyons that many people never get to see, NOT in a church.

I'd like to think I'm open minded enough not to crucify other's for not believing everything I believe, and can accept the fact that no one will ever think exactly like myself.

I mean how do you match your born again universe theory with christianity? You, personally, in your head?
It's not a call to contradiction or scrutiny, just interested in the details.

you can have a Church filled with 1000 people and 1 person sitting at home could be more in touch with GOD that the 1000 at Church. Being at Church give you a place to be in touch or hang out while you are being mentally involved and be involved with others but its no different that any where else if you believe strong enough.
Just I would have to say pass on your feeling with anyone maybe you can help them feel the happiness that comes with being in touch with GOD.
Don't push your self on anyone and never put anyone down if they don't believe. Just tell them you respect them for who they are, as long as they are not out to kill you of course lol.
I think it works best if someone sees you happy. People generally want to be happy. When I was young I was a non believer. I had a nun hit me in the hand with a ruler and spank my bare bottom in public when I was in first grade. I was scared of religious things. Before that I went to church with my baby sitter and found bullies at church and that the parents of the kids were biased to their kids and their kids friends and I was left out. I still went to church with her. I went to a baptist kindergarten before that and there were bullies, but I had no idea that the kindergarten was affiliated with religion. Once I stopped being babysat I stopped going to church my parents never went to church and still don't. I forgot about it really and then when I was a teen I was into monsters and metal music. I wore a Slayer "Reign in Blood" patch on my jacket. I was approached by many Christians that were "I thought" scolding me as if I was bad. I felt that I was stereo typed because of my appearance. At school and other places I started to see the hippo-critical Christians everywhere. Do as I think and say and not as I do motto. This was a major turn off. I wanted nothing to do with religion. However I chilled out when I got older and started to learn more of the way the world works and started questioning weather I should believe or not. This lead me to finally having a great moment in time where most of the people I knew where religious and they were nice and without prejudice and happy. This is what I wanted was to be happy so I let go of my fears and believed.
I started having a better life and it would almost seem as if I started getting somewhere for once. So because of all of this I know what the non believers are thinking , they don't want some hypocrite to shove it down their throats.

I'd say so, as much as I'd say a dog is still a dog when it's dead, and mastodon bones are a mastodon.
Why, that question get you in trouble before?? :D

its quite a debate in our circle. one that has caused hours and hours of debate and it was supposed to be a dead subject (HAH! get it)

the argument is i guess a lot like life/conception. at what point does it stop being clearly human and just a pile of decomposing dirt pile mush stuff... so since there is no clear line there you make the second death is confirmed the moment they are no longer human and just decomposing matter. is human define by life and yadda yadda..

you can believe that your spirit leaves your body and goes somewhere
or you can believe you do not have a spirit that it is all science based
this is the only explanation I can think of to tell some one
OK lets groups everything that all man kind knows all together
the universe and so forth
well whats outside that and then whats out side that
could it be infinite if so science doesn't support it or does it
we don't know it doesn't make since
but that there is a higher energy or being or what ever that made it or knows about it
well who is that???
could we have evolved from a single cell to this advanced body or would it be likely that at some time between what we are now
and a single cell we would have become extinct because of our inefficiencies

I have heard several religious stories of why we have dinosaur bones.
Some of them are embarrassing to hear because of the stupidity of it, and some could have possibly been the truth.
for those who don't know about these films or stories if you see a stupid one don't think all Christians think like that.

Believing in one possibility and thinking of other possibilities are not contradictions IMO. Problem is IMO that some people can't seem to differentiate between the two.

Do I believe EVERY single word in the Bible as God's "truth"? No. Does that mean I'm going to hell? Honestly don't know.

That said, I also believe that man's comprehension of the universe is so small, and we try to rationalize that which we don't know in a simple way which we can understand.

Problem is, 100 billion years from now, we won't be around LOL As humans, our understanding of time is very limited IMO.

With that said, given the probability I'll die before you, if I can let you know "from the other side" what's going on, I'll be sure to drop you a line and give you the inside scoop:D

Presuming the universe is still around in 100 billion years of course. They say it's only 18 billion years old now.

Time is what has always fascinated me in cosmological terms. Especially in regards to our placement in it. Space is one thing, and the universe is undeniabley vast, but what you don't get an explicit sense of from the pictures of the farthest reaches of the universe is that of time (the implicit understanding of time is there. For example, if you look at the sun, you are only seeing what the sun looked like 8 minutes ago).
There is the popular analogy, that I can't quite remember fully; that if you take an average roll of toilet paper and mark the first sheet as the beginning of Earth, and then mark off each sheet as a million year period, by the time you get to the age where dinosaurs appear, there'll be nothing left to wipe your arse with. :D

And I honestly believe that those 18 billion years passes a lot quicker when you're having fun;)

Point being, by the time I die, it will only be a blink of an eye time wise compared to when someone in ancient Greece died thousand of years ago.

Ever take some cold medication and knock yourself out for 12 hours of sleep and didn't even know it when you woke up?

Kind of like one of Socrates views on death, only for about a 100 billion of years LOL

They say that the Sun is going to fry up the earth when it evolves into a larger star. So our doomsday is sure to come. I don't remember how far in the future it is though.

No, it's been shown that deja vu is a glitch in the matrix, when they change come something. ;)

I believe the time frame is that if the human race wants to get off this rock, it will be able to...

It will grow pretty large, but the general consensus seems to be that we'd be long gone by then. One way or the other.
The simple solution is leaving the planet, which will definitely happen one day in the future; the others, are altering the universe around us or time travel.
