XD, but once im forced into situations where i have to get to know the person better i start to see past race, and meet their friends and go through the same cycle, but i don't really associate with very many people

I'd like to know a logical reason for racial hatred... It makes no sense to me. People are people!

A. It depends. In a regular social setting? NO not unless they approach you and have beef with you.
B. If you're retarded enough to walk in the wrong part of town during the night than that's on you.

I wouldn't venture into areas that I do not know anything about thus I'd have no reason to be paranoid. But if I saw someone of a different nationality on the street in a familiar hang out I'd be straight.

Do you subscribe to the idea that all negative emotions/actions are based in fear?

I subscribe to the idea that ignorance breeds fear;)

And fear normallly makes people respond in some very unusual ways. We as animals ( yes we are essentially animals) are fearful of that which is different than us.

When you actually stop breeding with immediate family, you learn that a different color human...Is still a human...then that fear should subside:D

Sometimes this evolution is slow though

Well said. It would seem as simple as once you understand another person, and if that person means you no harm, then your ignorance is abated, and thus your fear of that person is as well. So, yes, ignorance can breed fear.

Is it possible to be racist but not harbor racist feelings towards specific individuals of another color?

Not in my opinion, in my belief the very term RACIST refers to a specific attitude, about a specific race.

I do believe that as humans, we can have certain predjudices but that doesn't mean we are "predjudiced"

Just simply opinionated about certain issues...For instance:

I HATE peas, frozen, canned fresh doesn't matter I simply cannot stand them being near me....Does that mean I hat eall vegetables? Absolutely not.

Does it mean I hate all GREEN vegetables...Absolutely not.....I do not like the taste of peas...That's a predjudice without labeling an entire race or species;)

Education teaches us, or is supposed to teach us how to seperate the issue and not the individual, or the entire group:)

Interesting. So are you saying that your individual experience with a person should not dictate your opinions of their race, good or bad? (I know I'm being a bit simplistic here)

That's how I feel about it....I try to focus on the individual and my experiences with them. Not who they represent, generally you'll find that most people don't speak for anyone else but themselves.

The haters are trying to get recognition for themselves, not pormote thier cause;)

well it all depends on what you define as fear i guess

Basic garden dictionary definition.

In this case - the fear of an unknown, creates a negative belief. If one was convinced there was nothing to fear, then there'd be no logical reason for the negative belief.

Ok, you said what I feel as well. I like to think I'm an individualist. It very much depends on how I'm treated by any one person. I don't let race get in the way of that. I do, however, fall into the trap of stereotyping races - including my own. I differentiate between groups and individuals, as there is a difference, and individuals acting as a group can be different that how those individuals would act alone.

(sorry for all the double posts)
