I had a popular piracy website shut down(As if it's the only one out there), so they're whining.
apparently he just felt that he needed to do the right thing and report it so the rest of us can no longer use it. now that TVlinks is gone, finding a decent site to watch tv shows on is hard as shit.
Uhm, considering I want to pursue a career in this field, yes, I felt the need. Even if I didn't want a career in it. For the third time, you guys said I'd never make an impact, there's thousands of other sites. Well, stop complaining, and go find those other sites. I did nothing wrong, you guys are just pissed that you can't download movies from that site anymore.

because shows I may want to watch may not always be on the TV maybe? Some shows on those sites are no longer run on the air, either, which would make them impossible for me to watch on my TV, correct?

you say you're against piracy, but I don't understand why. The people involved in these shows still make more money than I probably ever will in my lifetime. I just dont understand why you're so against free streaming.

the thing is, these sites never stopped me from paying my hard earned money to go to see a good movie on the big screen, or from paying my cable bill, or buying a DVD set of one my favorite shows, or paying for an actual CD from a band that I like. I still give my hard earned money to the entertainment industry on a pretty regular basis. What's so wrong with sampling a product before you pay for it, is the way I look at it. I don't really want to watch a shitty quality video clip shot with a hand-held camera, but if it could potentially save me $20-$25? Why not?
I just hope that the MPAA doesn't find all the illegal music on his computer when they stop by his house to give him his award for single handedly shutting down that site. Because then the RIAA will be fining him $250,000 for having illegally downloaded music.

What does it matter? for every site that gets shut down there are 100+ out there that do the same thing. Some are out of the US's jurisidiction even.

yeah but the reason he did it is why some of us dont agree with his actions. illegal or not, snitching on someone because you have something to prove is pretty low on my list.
