.... can you remember what camera body Pink's friend had and posted ISO examples of when she was here? The reason I'm asking is I was so impressed with them I think I need one of 'em but for the life of me I can't remember.

Second question.....

What Canon body would you buy if you could afford it? Not a pipe dream kind of body just a descent solid one that you would be pleased with and you know it would give you great results. I like my 50D but I think I want to kick it up a notch if you know what I mean. My prints turn out very sharp if I keep the ISO under 800 but anything above that and I see more grain than I like. I know I've mentioned my dislike of grain before and to me it's a big issue.

Thanks for trying to help Francis but that isn't the thread. I can't remember Pinks friends name or I would search for it. I think it's the Canon 5D Mk II body that's got me all wound up but there's one thing I don't like about it and that's the video mode. It's a beauty otherwise. Canon has dropped some of their models since I last gave this any thought and that's why I was asking Tuffy his opinion. It's on sale right now and Canon has or is about to raise their prices. Bastards! They didn't leave me a lot of choices.

If it's Sammy you're talking about, she has a Canon 5D Mk 2... which is the one that's got you all wound up ;)

Sorry Guy, you mean this thread where Sammy39 has the following post, with the attached info.. :D

http://www.offtopicz.net/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1694620

Wrong link but it got me started. This would be the correct link.... http://www.offtopicz.net/showthread.php?t=66501

... but it's not the thread I was talking about. The one I want to see has a bunch of different examples of the same shot with different ISO settings. It's the right body as retro pointed out so at least I'm on the right track now.

I think you're thinking of this post
Just for fun, me and PinkPorridge decided to test our cameras against each other...just to make very clear, this isnt a Canon VS Nikon debate...these 2 cameras aren't even on the same level as each other...just wanted to see what you get out of a full frame sensor vs a non-full frame sensor.....

Guy, that is the Camera the store was trying to sell me when I was looking at the T2i. It was the 5D, 7D or T2i..

For what I use I think I made the right choice.. :)

I really want that body but am going to have to sleep on it a bit more. Being an amateur I haven't figured out how to justify the cost right now. It's a lot of dough when it won't pay you back. Then again so is my lens. See the fight I have going on with myself.

I have the same arguement with myself concerning my plastic ponies. I could probably get a decent used car with the amount I've invested in m collection. :ninja

Hobbies will eat your posket book out of house and home. My hobbies are never cheap. The last one I was involved with for 13 or 14 years was large scale RC planes. They set me back 2 - 4k each and could be destroyed due to a 10 cent part failing. Some day I might start a thread about them.

Yah I used to have that fight all the time.. Mine used to be the best and greatest Computer equipment back about 10 years ago and had to keep up to the fastest and greatest processor on the market..

Until I realized I never needed it and it was always the store making money off me.. Now I wait a few years..

That's why I said I really like that I did not go with the 5D they were trying to push on me.. Even the 7D was twice the price..

The important thing is you realized when enough camera was enough for you. I'm almost at that point and know for a fact I will be if I buy that body. Lens's... well that's another story.

Full frame cameras are good, like the 5d MKII, I am waiting for the MKIII though
