btw, on ebay, what happens if your reserve price isnt hit. i assume it isnt sold? in that case, i never understood the point of the reserve. why not just start the bidding at that price?

yeah but then if they dont hit the reserve they dont get anything.
and by the time they get close to the reserve, they may very well stop and say, im not paying more and i didnt hit the reserve so screw that... (which is the same thing they could say if they saw the starting price at the reserve price)
am i missing somethin ghere?
