It's from The Office and the only reason I have it is because I have a thing for Ms. Pam Beasley (the character's name.)

But regarding your problem, someone said something about hibernate doing funky things to computers. I can vouch for that. Every time I put either of my laptops in hibernate it randomly messes up my clock and date.

Hibernation has always messed up my PC at one time or another. I think I just got rid of it as an option at one point.

I wonder if 7 will be any better with that. Does Vista even have a hibernation option?

Tell me about it. I have to put Vista back on my laptop cause the screen is fucked up and it has to have Vista on it before I can ship it off to be repaired. It's been fighting me all night.

I avoided that OS like the plague, and am happy I did. My wife has it on her PC, and most of the time she has no problem with it. But she also dosen't fuck with it. I'd have Vista screwed up in no time if it were on my machine. I'm having long shutdown times as it is with XP again.

I couldn't avoid it, I needed a new computer and it was my only option. But the thing runs XP great and it will have XP back as soon as it's fixed.

Damn, what a pain in the ass to have to get Vista enabled just to get it repaired. :mad

Have you done anything with Linux?

I had a dual boot between XP and Ubuntu a while ago. I think I'm gonna do it again when I get my computer back. I like to play games and all, but sometimes it's nice to have Ubuntu for doing some web surfing, it just boots so fast.

Hey, while I'm at it - I'm having this issue with my Application Data folder missing in XP. It's there, but not in the tree view in Windows Explorer. If I type in the path to the AD folder in the Address box in Windows Explorer, it will then show up and be added to the tree view. But if I close Win Exp and reopen it the AD folder is once again absent from the tree view.

I have all the settings correct in the Tools/Folder Options/View to reveal hidden folders etc. and I haven't had this problem in the past . . . any ideas

Application Data shows up as a hidden folder for me. Go to Tools, Folder Options, View (tab), and then hit "Show Hidden Folders." Navigate to Application Data, right click it, and un-check "Hidden". You can then hide your folders again if you wish.

Thanks - I had the first part, but didn't realize the hidden part was in the folder properties. I have no idea how it got that way, as I did not enable it.

Yah - I knew that, but I had it unhidden for years. Somehow it got re-hidden. I just forgot it was in the folder properties as well l as the tools menu :)
