China used to shoot Christians, they may still be stoned & killed in parts of Afghanistan, Iraq & Iran. If you are a sikh, you could be put to death in some parts of India & Pakistan. For centuries christians would kill muslims, while muslims would kill christains - both of them killed atheists. Hitler killed over 5 million Jews & that was only 60 years ago.

Before you stand up, you just may want to consider exactly where you are, & whether or not you want to continue with your life.

It does seem rather funny though that all these gods would allow you to die for trying to spread their words. Maybe that's just my bias speaking.

That's the old "no non-believers in the foxholes" theory. Wrong. I've faced terrible pain and fear in my years and never converted. If there is a god, do you think he digs hypocrites?

I did not say that I would not stand up for my beliefs, my point was just that you had better be damn sure that your belliefs are worth dieing for. Since all religions are based on faith, that is that you believe it to be true, even though there is no evidence that it is true, is it really worth dieing for. On the other hand freedom is worth standing up for, so is love & there are other things such as protecting your family.

Dieing for a god seems like a complete waste of time as you have accomplished nothing & anyone you leave behind will suffer for your decision.
