Guilty as hell....THAT BABY WAS ALIVE!!! ....I cant imagine doing that...especially when you could put the baby up for adoption...so many other choices...and besides...even if she did it herself...I thought abortions were only allowed up to a certain point... that was murder...even if it was the mother... the baby had a heartbeat...it's brain was functioning...it was breathing by that point...how is that not murder

As much as children are important, and as much as I love preggo bellies. IMO, it's her body and her desperation. She did what she felt was necessary. I don't think it's right, of course BUT I am fully 100% pro choice.
I know you all won't agree with me on this. I'm sorry, but I think the judge was right. However, I would have agreed whichever way the judge ruled.

I understand what your saying james...it is soo her choice...but i disagree with you on one part...I dont care what state you live in there are even places that will help pay the cost of abortions...there are planned parenthoods in va. If she really didnt want the kid she should have gotten rid of it before she was too far along. I think the judge ruled wrong because she was ready to go into labor then. The baby was already alive...so hence ...it = murder

Well I dunno... I don't consider a baby "alive" until it's been born, as in it's not being dependant on the umbilical cord to stay alive outside of the mothers womb.
Once a baby is actually, physically born. I consider it alive... and then it would be full scale murder had she shot it then. However she inflicted the pain upon herself, and the fetus.
I feel like shit debating this with you Kat... cause in all reality what she did DOES sicken me, from a human being with morals' stance.

Hmm. Well based on that theory, The child is hers, So if she decided to kill it after it was born, would that still be her right. Born or not, It was full term. It was Murder.

ok, so she made a bad choice, in some of your eyes. big deal. its a touchy topic. your beliefs are skewing the fact that she made the choice, not you. so, she is going by what she believes. not to seem harsh, but i will - get the fuck over it.

But here's the difference Silent. Full term or not, the baby isn't necessarily going to survive outside of the mothers womb.

i mean, i can see Silents side, and i somewhat agree... but in this case the baby is 100% dependant on it's mother for survival.

But in fairness, It was the day she was to deliver, That baby would have every reason to survive out of the womb, And the fact that she was full term, the chances are good the baby could and would have survived at this point were she herself to have died.
Don't get me wrong I see your Point, But, A full Term baby.. Had someone else stabbed her, Then it would have been Murder. No question about it. The fact that she did it to herself makes it no less murder.

I completely understand! That's why it's hard for me to argue my point based on this specific article... the baby could have survived had she not shot it.

Well let's see... she woke up, got a gun, had someone load it for her, drove to a parking lot, shot herself in the womb area and then called 911 and told the operator that someone named Travis shot her in the stomach. Sounds like premeditated murder to me.
I don't know how it is in Virginia, but at least in Mississippi I know for a fact that there are free health clinics that give out many forms of birth control to people just like her. The tax payers flip the bill on that, so why not use it? I have no sympathy for her. None. If her boyfriend is so verbally abusive then she needs to leave his sorry ass. End of story.

I agree. There is a point in which you shouldn't have an abortion. The baby was fully developed...
