Don't pull that "he's too young" garbage. it has nothing to do with it. No one waves a magical wand when you get married that MAKES you HAVE to SHARE EVERYTHING. Its nice to, and I think you should, but its not a requirement.

So, he spent marital money to gamble, and that was stupid. Yet, he won back those spendings. I think he SHOULD share it, but really what is there legally that makes him HAVE TO?

Age has all to do with it, because with age, you gain life experience and morals - no there is not a written rule, unless it is in their vows when they got married - it's just an accepted thing that two become one when married and should therefore do the honourable and right thing.

Yes, he won that money having spent it, but it was still not all his to spend - he took it from the marital funds and that's that. :)

Try not to get so personal in your replies huh? That's what I mean about age - you also learn how to conduct yourself with opinions appropriately. It's only my opinion, after all.

Age doesn't always bring knowledge and wisdom. I know elderly people are still children, and I would trust a 14 year old with something before them. It all depend son the person.

Yes, two people take vows, but there is nothing, legal that says they have to share everything. But, like i said, I think he SHOULD have. It would be nice.

Yes, re your first bit above starting, "Age doesn't......"
It is clear though that in this thread, age is very obviously not able to define right from wrong, morals from deceiving...

I acknowledge you also say "It would have been nice......"

Says who?

Look up community property laws. Essentially, the law entitles each spouse to half of the assets acquired during a marriage. I am aware that different states have different descriptions of what those assets are. For instance, if you inherit money or property, that is not considered the property of the marriage but belonging to the one who inherited it. But yeah, look that up, dear. You won't mind claiming half my assets. ;)

Bottom line, if you love somebody, you should share what you have with them. That is the way it should work, you should bewilling to lay down your life for them, let alone material things.

Reading the article and the comments here it seems to me that everybody is assuming thatthis guy is totally in the wrong.I dont approve of what he has done either but at the same time there is something being overlooked here.

He bought a new house for himself. That to me says things werent right between him and his wife to begin with,he bought the house so he would have somewhere to live after a separation, maybe its just me and the way things like that go here but the wife usually gets the house in these cases .

Also the whole fact that all this is in the public domain also shows that the wife is being vindictive my airing everything in public, and not just chasing him through the courts out of the media spotlight. If this is the sort pof person she is then maybe its understandable that he wanted to sort himself out before separating from her.

Oh baloney. The media loves stories like these.

They were married. Their property is their property. It's not just hers and it is not just his. For you folks that think the money was just his, don't ever get married with out a pre-nup. Oh - and read up on the law. :smiley24:
