Woman arrested for hot Sauce

Just judging by the video, didn't look like the child was in that much discomfort. Would I do it, no. Do I think it's child abuse........not really. Do I think she and the family need counseling? YUP

This woman was arrested for having her child drink hot sauce for a punishment. Do you think this is Child Abuse or should people just mind their own damn business??

If i back talked I got my mouth rinsed out with soap a couple times.

back in the 40's my dad got his mouth hit with hot sauce. So did my mom in the 50's

I believe this was a form of Child Abuse in a sense. I understand that different methods were used along time ago and even till this day, but it is 2011 and it is still ashame that some people have not learned that those means of punishment are cruel. A child is meant to be protected, loved, taught, and helped. I do not see the point in using Hot Sauce as punishment because it does not teach them anything whatsoever other than the fact that the person who claims to love me is doing this to me. We have to stop comparing our mindset to that of child's mindset. They will make mistakes. They will be hard to raise. They even will get you upset at times, but that is why there is a fine line between adults and kids. They trust adults to do the right thing. No child should be harmed to be taught a lesson. That is just my own thoughts of course.

Child abuse. I agree with Tim and GA. There are MANY other forms of discipline to use to get children to understand than by screaming at your kid, and pouring hot sauce down his throat. The woman in that video is sick and needs help (as she obviously went to Dr. Phil for this in the first place). She should be punished! Not to mention, it's a CHILD. Giving a child too much of that shit can damage their insides.

I also don't know the history of this woman and this kid, so I can't say what the "context" is.

She adopted him and his twin brother. She was drawn to the twin, but NEVER liked this boy. The one she likes NEVER gets in trouble, and is the golden child. This child can never do anything right, because she's had a dislike for him from day one and has convinced herself is manipulative and anything good he does has an ulterior motive.

I am sure it is for a mere child.

But some of them are just tomatoe-y and vinegary - not even that hot! Like they may just have garlic, etc.

Would allow any hot sauce to be used on your child?

YES :D

But I would prefer to use soap. Soaps are made from lye and chemicals which are poisonous, but let's use that instead of hot sauce which is made from peppers and tomatoes and vinegar....:cool

I just do not see the sense in even attempting or actually doing that to a child. I am sure there are better ways to teach a child a lesson. Why should we punish children the way we might have been punished in a sense? Well, I do respect your opinion on the matter though. It is just one of those cases where we agree to disagree.
