so why has life improved thanks to the miserable socialists and their policies? Life in pre-socialist Britain was a very harsh reality indeed.

No wonder Mr Churchill made an absolutely useless PM, except for his gung-ho warmongering.

(it's worth noting he was voted out as soon as the war ended, with good reason, he was an alcoholic misogynistic moron and a terrible leader for Britain.)

Voted out of office by a socialist, ironically.

But it's already been proven that Social Security is no longer viable... so should we can them now? Health Care is more than likely going to end up in the same boat, because we already don't have the funds to sustain it.

If Social Security is supposed to be a mandated savings plan for U.S. citizens, how hard can that be? If you look at the last 70 years (whatever) pretty hard. I admit this is real good ammo for those who claim big government just screws most things up. The absolute crime is that this program if administered honestly, would have worked.

For today, the program will have to be altered to keep it viable AND POLITICIANS WILL HAVE TO STOP ROBBING IT (BASTARDS!). If that is too hard, then by all means get rid of it. And fyi I asked these questions when I was 17. If the program does not pay you back, then it becomes one huge tax. :(

Social Security is something the electorate should be absolutely screaming about, but we are a bunch of stupid lemmings.

Jesse Jackson? :)
No, Minor Axis! Although I imagine it's been said by someone before. :)

Social Security is an insolvent Ponzi Scheme... so why do you think that the government is going to do any better with health care? The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. Yet that's exactly what we're doing, we're letting the politicians create these programs and then expecting that they're going to treat them differently from the previous ones they've robbed from and destroyed.

I can't disagree, we need some tough answers on Social Security and future generations, I know I aint relying on it to support me......

As for Health Care, please let me pay for my own health care along with my employer, my in-laws are in Ireland, I've seen the fiasco government managed health care is......they are in their 70s and it will be a miracle if they live to see 80, not that they are in bad health but the health treatment they receive.
