Does anyone have Windows 8 or 8.1? I just recently upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. I've only had Windows 8 for a few months and I came from Vista. It was annoying to make that transition because it is very different. I'm just now getting used to how everything works now.

I understand Windows 8 was designed for Business. That's why there's no games on it. I have windows 7 and it's great. Much more friendly.

Have Windows 8 on my laptop, have not upgraded to 8.1 yet (not sure if I will). It is pretty clean, but I still miss the traditional start button/menu.

I won't upgrade to windows 8, at least for now.
My computer is working perfectly with windows 7, I had vista, and since it got upgrade, my computer is running really smoothly, especially in games.
Windows 7 is the best.

I used to use Windows 7 until my brother teased me about not using Windows 8, so I updated it.
At first I thought it was mediocre, considering the start menu's gone, so I decided to find a mod that brings the start menu back.
Windows 8 seems to boot up and login faster than Windows 7 does, but that's about as many improvements as I can find. It isn't all that bad if you install a start menu mod, which some of them are free with fewer features though.

I bought a new laptop several months ago which came with Windows 8, and since then I've been married to Windows 8. Maybe the reason I don't have a problem with it ever since then is because I'm an all weather person. I've not made any changes to it since I've been using it, and I do like it. Although, I must confess that sometimes I do have compatibility issues with it. Nevertheless, Windows 8 is not a bad idea if you are a person that is not afraid of CHANGE.

I had Windows 8 and now I have 8.1 and I have no problem with the OS. It's faster than 7 and there are a few more features. The big problem for everyone is the start screen, but personally I don't see the problem: it's just a fullscreen start menu, and I actually prefer it over the old menu...I guess people are afraid of change. The only thing that bother me is the difference between apps and desktop software.

I currently only have Windows 7. I wouldn't get windows 8 if I were you guys, however, as windows 8.1 is the much better upgrade if you're coming from Windows 7. Do note that everyone disliked windows 7 when they came from XP, but look at us now, everyone is used to it. Windows 8.1 boots up fast and is great for laptops and comes with DirectX 11.2, so it's actually good for games. There is absolutely no difference in gaming performance between Windows 7 and Windows 8.

No. And up to now I have not even tried out Windows 8.

I personally am still back on the old time Windows XP LOL

I have tried Windows 7 and really like it but since my laptop runs off of XP I haven't really even got to check out 7 fully so probably my next upgrade will be to Windows 7 but by then they will probably already come out with Windows 9 or 10 LOL

You can still download a copy of windows 7 right now and not actually have to pay for a license until after you install it.

I am not too big on windows 8. My old computer has XP amd I like it just fine. I may try to upgrade, but I am looking for a new computer. My mom has Windows 8 on her computer and I have been trying to get familiar with it, but I am having trouble understanding how it works. I will keep at it and maybe I will get the hang of it before I buy my new computer.

I'm running Windows 7 on this computer (thank god) but the laptop I bought for my parents came with Windows 8. It is awful. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to turn off the computer! I think it's okay if you have a tablet, but for anything else, it is definitely a downgrade.

I have tried Windows 8 at one of the electronic store. I much prefer Windows 7 because it's easier for me to navigate and very user-friendly. I think Windows 8 is meant for touch-screen laptop, desktop, or tablet. I have heard about the Windows icon no longer on the home screen.

We are running a few trial machines with Windows 8 in our company. The feedback is mixed but overall I think we will be fully upgrading by early next year.

I have windows 7 now and wouldn't consider upgrading to 8. However, i probably will go to 8.1 if the reviews are good and the start button has returned. At least then i can find things without googling it first. Windows 8 is really designed for touchscreens and i only have a regular screen.

The start button has returned, but the menu as not. For that you still need to find a third party solution.

A friend of mine who is really smart and builds his own computers dislikes win 8 so I will take his word for it and stick with win 7.

I don't think I could ever get convinced to use Windows 8 on my PC. It just looks awful and is very user-unfriendly(apart from modern design) . I have it on my phone though, it's bearable for now...
I feel I'm more in control with 7. I love trying new stuff out but this one is just not convincing.
