Revealing a person’s sexual orientation without consent can lead to harassment, discrimination, and safety risks. Even accidental sharing can have severe consequences. Should laws specifically address non-consensual outing? How can platforms prevent this type of abuse?

Likewise outing trans people can also do harm to them. Unfortunately most protections have been rolled back on social media platforms, and you can report posts but action might not be taken. The reason why people remain in the closet is because society doesn't know how to treat others with respect and go by their own personal feelings and opinions rather than being a nice and good person.

Platforms might implement rules and even ban or limit users who do this. But this cannot be totally controlled because it is mainly related to user behavior and their action is based on cultural upbringing, temperament and moral issues.
