Many young people report physical cringe reactions to others' minor social blunders. Is this hyper-empathy or social media's perfectionism at work?

What's something harmless that gives you secondhand embarrassment?

For me I don't really always gets embarrassed easily but I don't know about others. But it is good to have self confidence and esteem

I think this is more of a social media's perfectionism at work. There is a desire to look perfect for younger generation.

I think it’s a mix of hyper-empathy and social media’s high standards shaping how we judge others. Personally, harmless moments like someone accidentally sending a message to the wrong person make me cringe secondhand, it’s relatable but still awkward to witness.
