From reading books to waiting in line, young people report unusual distress with mundane activities. Is this an attention span issue or something deeper?

What's one "normal" daily activity you find unusually difficult?

Gen Z struggles with boring tasks because constant digital stimulation has lowered their tolerance for monotony. Growing up with fast-paced, engaging content, they find repetitive or slow activities harder to focus on, craving instant gratification and novelty instead.

Exactly! Gen Z’s constant exposure to quick, stimulating digital content reduces patience for boring tasks. Their brains crave novelty and fast rewards, making focus on repetitive work challenging. Developing discipline and mindfulness can help balance this digital-driven attention span.

Younger generation has low attention span. Not just with boring task, even when they are using social media, and if they don't like the video for 3-4 seconds they will immediately swipe.

It seems as the generations come, the amount of patience and attention spans that individuals have keep reducing. Technology hasn't helped with that either. We have instant messengers and other tech utility that people get services instantly. That's why the Gen Z struggle with mundane tasks.

Because the world is more fun and the fact that the Internet exists makes it so that one can always see that there is a better or more fun life then boring tasks, you know that technically they are a waste of time, one wants to live, not survive
