As some of you may know I'm a senior mod on a football forum. Recently in a thread we had a discussion about abortion. Someone mentioned about how the catholics are responsible for people dying of AIDS in Africa by banning birth control and one of our senior mods went nuts about it, called everyone who disagreed with him every name under the sun and then deleted his account. Why do you think some people like him who are normally agreeable souls, go nuts at the slightest sign of their religion being attacked?:confused

The whole 'Adam Card' was played here. (Adam Card = passing the buck, not taking responsibility for one's own behavior)
He may lack self control, maturity, etc. in knowing how to handle certain situations or he may have just been having a bad day. Who knows?
It is really no different than someone else loosing it over something they feel passionately about.
Because religion is a very powerful thing in a religious person's life....I mean, it deals with where they came from, where they are going, how to live their life, so I can see how he could be offended, but he was being childish.
Religion is a really personal thing, and I can see how it would easily offend someone, but that guy was just dumb.
I tend to find that the people that get the most riled up about religious talk are the ones that aren't secure in their beliefs.
