no, i get what he's saying. there are people who misspell on purpose (not text speak). they change the y's to i's (or vice versa), the S's to Z's (or vice versa), the 'ou' to just the "u", etc.
there are some peoples posts on FB that give me a headache trying to read because of it! majority of them i hide from my news feeds

I'd guess people that don't know how to spell properly aren't doing it for the cool factor, they're doing it because they're ignorant.
Actually, I really don't see a difference between people who may spell incorrectly for the "cool factor" as those who don't know how to wear a hat properly, or like those who love to wear their pants half way down their ass.
