Well, I joined because I used moderate a forum ages ago, before I got a computer - I had to go to the library to use the computer there to moderate. I stopped moderating there, because ppl just didn't know how to be friendly in the end and there was no sign of a turning point - after I stopped, the forum was deleted.

I eventually got my own computer and missed the chat, so I looked in google for forums and this one was about the third one I looked at.

It seemed a good friendly, happy one, where just about anything goes, so I joined up here.

I haven't looked back since - I love the laughs I get on here too, which is like most of the time!!! I was accepted even though I am older too, which is lovely.

Thanks guys. :) ;) :D

P.S. I love the posts on this thread from JT, Haus and James, etc - you guys are hillarious. LOL :D

Well I joined because I was loooking for a general chat forum, googled for one and came across this place. I stuck around though because of how friendly it is here and the remarkable lack of arseholes for a forum!:)

I joined another forum a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Then the person who invited me to join decided that he wanted to stir up some trouble. He really wasn't doing anything "wrong" persay based on the rules they had in place, but he was aggravating people. I'm related to him so by relation I was found guilty as well. People started being rude and ugly to me even though I had really done nothing to make them be that way, except for standing up for my relative a few times (when people were doing the same stuff to him he had been doing .. I thought it rather hypocritical that they gripe and moan about it after they had just done it themselves). They gave me a really hard time and couldn't understand why I would stand up for him .. even though we were related .. and not turn against him .. well DUH!

So I had finally had enough of their highschoolish ways .. they were nothing but a big highschoolish acting clique anyways (which is kinda sad, for a bunch of people who were over the age of 20+).

One member even made it a point to say to me that they did not like newbies, and weren't usually very friendly towards them. (yeah, their forum is really gonna grow with that attitude)

So I started googling other forums. I found several, made a list of 5 and started visiting and looking around. I read rules, and searched threads pertaining to those rules (to see how people followed them and how anal retentive they were about them, and how they enforced them .. or if they did or just threatened to) and looked at welcome threads and searched threads made by new members and how people responded to them and if they were still posting.

Out of the list of 5, this one seemed the best choice, based on my evaluation.

So far, I really like it. Everyone is friendly and not snobby ... y'all don't attack the new people and set out making an "example" out of them. When you have a problem you don't resort to flaming the ever loving shit out of each other, and that was definately a deal sealer for me. I hate arguing and being ugly. When I go to a forum I go to make new friends and have somewhere to laugh and cut up and have fun .. not create more stress for myself.

This seems like the kind of forum you can kick your shoes off in and sit down for a spell. I like that :).

read the fucking manual :ninja

usually posted in a discussion, whether live (like a chatroom) or dead (like a forum), in a response to a question that is answered easily by a simple online search, or looking at the documentation.
