I think one of the most unfortunate aspects of the television age is the fact that so many cable networks and TV stations play shows and movies which are filled with a lot of violence.

However, while it's inappropriate and irresponsible for the networks to show so many violent films and shows, they're not the only ones who are at fault.

The general public is also at fault.

Television networks are just giving us, the public, what we want to see. If we didn't watch violence on TV, the networks wouldn't continue showing it on TV.

That's why it's up to society to do the responsible thing by refusing to watch violence on TV.

There is going to be violence no matter what. If they do not want their child to watch South park, then they can switch to Little Einstein. Pretty much every internet ruined childhoods.

The TV networks together with public demand stand responsible for the overwhelming violence presented on television screens. TV often choose ratings above responsible content and viewers also like to pursue more intense drama in their television shows.

We're the reason why there's violence on TV (and the rest of the media). We "started" with the Colosseum and now we have reality/fiction on TV.

It is actually what the audience actually prefer because when you look at the kind of contents that people shows more interest in, they are usually filled with a lot of violence, blood and gore. This is why movies industries focus more on that kind of aspect.

There is an audience for violence but if you are worried about violence you should avoid watching it, and if you are worried that it is bad influence on kids, make sure you don't allow them to watch violence

The responsibility for the violence shown on TV can be shared among multiple parties, including content creators, network executives, and viewers. Creators often push boundaries for ratings, while viewers' consumption patterns influence what gets produced and aired.

That's right. About 60% of TV programs contain violence. An hour of prime-time television includes about five violent acts. An hour of children's Saturday morning shows has violence. it is the society to be blamed
