I don't cook, but Mom sometimes tells me when to turn things off or whatever...Hopefully we'll both find a day for me to learn more...

I remembered 'cooking' in 8th grade in Family and Consumer science class, lol I did the meat...

You learn by getting in the kitchen and watching and by asking questions... like "Mom, I want to learn how to cook, can I help/watch?"

God damn I'm smart!:cool

My mother usually cooks the meals around here. However, if she isn't home for whatever reason, I can easily fill in and prepare something.

I learned how to cook from my mother and my grandmother. It's an important skill.

My parents shared the cooking responsibilities.

I cook most nights, simply because my hubby only gets home late. He loves cooking (and is way better at it than I am) so he cooks on weekends.

Jessica... my 4 year old can already make one or two basic things (that don't require cooking) because he spends time in the kitchen with me, and helps me measure ingredients etc.
Get into the kitchen and observe!!

My mom usually cooked growing up, because she was a mom and my dad was the worker. When we hit high school, she got a job, and I'd usually start dinner before she got home- browning meat or cutting vegetables.

Now, I cook, or Matt brings home food from work. He helps all the time.

My two year old has her own apron and loves to help me mix things and has loads of cookery based toys like plates, tea cups, pans and plastic vegetables.
