Honestly, I said no one...no need to put the lives of our soldiers, sailors and marines on the line just because some camel jockey starts sabre-rattling....

Yeah. Just starving women and children being massacred.
They had that in Iraq too but everybody is mad about that little operation. It seems if people are starving, being massacred AND have oil then it's imperialistic aggression and a violation of international law to invade. I guess that oil makes their lives a little less worthwhile to care about.

Iraq HAD a massacre a long time ago. Darfur is happening right now. But I'm not against your notion of oil influencing foreign policies.

Resources influence everything. Why else you think nothing has been done about N. Korea which is probably the worst pit in the world as far as atrocities and oppression go?
To be honest I'm surprised the US even bothered to invade Iraq. It seems it would have been cheaper just to strong arm Saddam to sell the oil for cheap.
Unless of course they really thought he had big firecrackers hiding under his bed.
