HoL is pretty easy if you have a decent healer or a smart group.
There are basically two strategies, the first is that you can just stand in, burn the boss, and have your healer heal through the damage.
Or, you have your group pile up (group of four facing the ass of the boss) and the tank facing Loken towards his chair. If anyone gets the debuff, he runs to the side. Once Loken starts his AoE, run directly backwards. The tank may get hit, but otherwise its easy.
As for my video, thats Algalon the Observer, the 14th Ulduar hardmode-only boss. You can only fight him for one hour a week before he resets. You unlock him by getting the quest item off of Iron Counil Medium or Hardmode, and then doing all four of the keepers (Hodir, Thorim, Mimiron, and Freya) on hardmode.
The fight itself is rather straight foward. He stacks a debuff on the tank, if it reachs 5 they get knocked into another deminsion. He shoots a fire-fissure that explodes, and deals damage based on how close you are to it when it explodes. He does a special attack that hits for about ~5k on tanks and doesnt do anything special. In addition, there are stars that float around. Once you kill them, they explode and do about ~7-8k raid damage and form a black hole. There are other "constelations" that fly around. They have a trheat table, but they way to kill them is to kite them into the black holes. There are four stars and three constelations per his Big Bang ability, which hits anyone that doesnt walk into one of the black holes for about ~70k damage, but if everyone takes a black hole, he casts teh ability in the other realm (the other realm is the place you go to when you walk into the black hole).
So basically, you have someone killing the stars, and a healer getting healer agro and running the constelations into the black holes, which seals them. Then, on the fourth star death (which is killed near his big bang ability), everyone in the raid, except for one person, runs inside of the black hole itno another deminsion untile the cast is over. You either leave up a tank with cooldowns such as pain supression or guardian spirit, or have a tank use two of their own cooldowns like last stand/shield wall to survive teh big bang. Ice block and bubble do not work, but dispersion from a shadow priest does. At that point, its rinse and repeat to 20%. The only other thing you worry about before 20% is making sure tanks taunt the boss when the tank who has agro gets 4 debuffs.
At 20%, four black wholes spawn and the creatures inside of the other realm zerg the room. At that point you just burn the boss hard.
HOWEVER, all of that (even if it is a bit of text) is all pretty simple. The rael bitch of the fight is just how fucking had Algalon hits. My tank gear is NOT amazing, but its all atleast 213/219/226 epics with one or two 232 tank epics. I have about 35,000 unbuffed HP, and about 42,500 raid buffed hp as a warrior, which are currently by far the worst of the four tanks. Algalons main hands hit me anywhere from 12-14.5k, and his offhand attakc hits me for about 7-9k. He also has a special/isntant 5k swing. Also, the stacking debuff that he applies does another 5k damage on application. Each hand strike every second, the 5k specials get tossed in randomly. It is very possible for my combat log to like like..
Algalon the Observer Melees you for 13,500
Algalon the Observer Melees you for 7,800
Algalon the Obersvers Cosmic Strike hits you for 5,300
Algalon the Obeservers Phase Punch hits you for 5,600
--------------------
Thats over 30,000 damage instantly. One second later, ill take another off-hand swing. 1.5 seconds after the 30k, Ill take another MH swing for ~12-14k. Aka, I can die from 100%-0% from boss melee damage in under three seconds on a boss which has -20% swing time and -550 attack power from demoralizing shout.
yay.
