It's ok. You have to explain things to me in single syllables before I get it I'm afraid. Sorry for being stupid
The point I was alluding to is that the ancestral home is irrelevant. How the person views themselves is what counts. I consider myself British as I was born here and I'm proud of that but I would never call myself English because I don't see myself as an English person. I see only the Caucasians as 'English'. If another Indian however wants to see themselves as English, I've no problem with that.
Do you call yourself an American or an Indian first and foremost? - or something else?
Your going to have to explain to me this. I dont understand european culture mainly because i dont live there... but wheather your english or british isnt it the same? Seeing as Brittain and England are 2 different names for the same country...
I am an Indian american because i was born in the U.S. but my race is Indian. There is no "American" race. Unless you consider the native americans but most of them are either dead or highly diluted with white genes (I.E. You meet a guy who is 7/8 white and 1/8 cherokee). But with you guys there is an "English" race. Same as how if a white man went to India, and even if he was born there like 3rd generation, he would not be an actual Indian to us due to his ancestral history. Just as a white or black guy went to korea he wouldent be korean even if he was born there because its his ancestral home.
