i would have to say common sense...
Ive got to go with common sense also I know alot of people that are really book smart but couldnt find their way out of a wet paperbag if they tried
would you accept the argument that we wouldn't have common sense (society telling us what's right) with out intelligent people to make society?
I do not believe in common sense. Let me try to put that into perspective, all the knowledge we accumulate is as a result of our experiences - people that share those experiences will have a shared knowledge base but it would certainly not be common sense.
Common means that everyone has the same level of experience but people living in the third world have a totally different set of shared knowledge than those of us living in modern first world cities.
When the Europeans first came to Australia, they nearly starved to death, in fact many did, claiming that there was no food here, but aboriginal children could have, & did, survive easily in the same environment.
Intelligence is not always the right answer either because sometimes really bright people cannot see the forest for the trees, they get caught up in the details & sometimes miss the big picture.
The best way to survive would be to have, or obtain, local knowledge - think about how you could survive in the Arctic without Inuit help. Intelligence alone may help you, but probably not in time & the common sense that you have now would not serve you well either.
