I was in highschool, freshman year just getting into science class and it was all over CNN. I heard people around me telling me the WTC were being bombed 5 minutes later I heard it was planes crashing into them. Scary stuff

I was getting ready to leave for work, and my boss who I was staying with at the time, was watching news. I thought it was a movie. I said lets get going, we are going to be late. He said I dont think thats going to matter today. Then I realized it wasnt a movie, just as the 2nd plane hit the tower. Needless to say... we all lost our jobs about a month later. Airplane parts industry took a fat dump!:(

Its amazing how even after all this time, Just to think about it still sends chills through me,

I watched nothing but news for two weeks, and it still just the imagry of it, It is still just sureal.

Grew up with the knowledge, that anybody who was alive when kennedy was shot, They can tell you exactly what they were doing the second it happened. It was hard to imagine something being so profound, And yet.. 50 years from now, I dont imagine anyone would forget what and where they were when the towers were hit.
as well as challenger. I remember i was watching the shuttle launch on tv with my mom and i think i was maybe 9years old?

Too young for Kennedy, too young to remember Challenger. I was heading home from the community college, it happened while I was driving - they didn't interrupt my radio because I was listening to CDs. When I got home mom was watching it on TV. I think at first I thought it was a movie or something weird. Then I got pissed 'cause they canceled classes for the rest of that day, but I didn't get to skip class because all mine were earlier that day.

It was around 11 o'clock in the evening over here & I had just finished watching a video when I saw a plane slam into one of the towers.

I said to myself "Wow what great effects, I should have been watching this movie instead". It was then that I realised it was on all channels & it was real.

I stayed up most of the night watching it & balling my eyes out.

I was on the USS John F Kennedy at the time and we had gotten underway for a scheduled 1 month training exercise. About an hour after we left the Captain made an announcement over the 1MC (that's the PA system for you land lubbers) telling us that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. We turned on the TV in our workcenter and watched on the news as the second plane hit.

As far as the Challenger, I was watching the shuttle launch on TV at home when it blew up. That was something frightening to see for a kid that aspired to be an Astronaut. Needless to say, I changed my mind about wanting to work for NASA.
