What I think is worse is that they fired 20 shots and only hit him 8 times. That's pathetic.

Its almost like she wanted them to shoot him. Like she was tired of dealing with her son. Can you think of any parent that would not have said that to the cops?

Maybe. Possibly even worse is what if she did believe her own son had a gun that she didn't know about? Both are pretty darn sad.

Another theory I heard this morning is that this was intentionally a "suicide-by-cop", which is one of those things that's becoming more and more common unfortunately.

The cops might have been right in using deadly force, it's hard to say without being there. But 20 shots fired at this boy without seeing a gun is excessive. Does it really take 20 shots to take down some boy with an unseen gun? With multiple cops aiming their weapons at him there would have been time to wait and see if he actually had a weapon. Who did they think they were dealing with, Wyatt Earp?
