I agree, we weren't there. 20 shots seems like a lot, but in that situation it's gotta be tough. Heck, it coulda been 10 cops fire 2 rounds each, we weren't there. The cops might have been right in using deadly force, it's hard to say without being there. But 20 shots fired at this boy without seeing a gun is excessive. Does it really take 20 shots to take down some boy with an unseen gun? With multiple cops aiming their weapons at him there would have been time to wait and see if he actually had a weapon. Who did they think they were dealing with, Wyatt Earp?
Bystander Dyshawn Gibson described Monday's shooting to CNN affiliate WABC-TV. "He dropped the brush," Gibson said. "He put his hands up. Police just started firing."
I honestly don't believe the eyewitness reactions in these cases. The radio this morning was playing a bunch of it, and (go figure) the black witnesses were bitching about the white cops who did the shooting. I take it all with a grain of salt, but I'd say it's a safe bet some of these witnesses have their own agendas to pursue, which is just sad if you ask me.This part of the article also disturbs me
I didn't make it a race issue, these people on the radio did. I swear every one of the 5 I heard said something along the lines of "these white *radio bleep* cops come in here and *bleep* start shooting at *bleep* everything". If they wanted to "just be an eyewitness" they would have absolutely no need to mention the race of the cops. Why is it when a black person sees a white cop do something imoral, they are automatically portrayed as having their own agenda? Why cant they just be an eyewitness? Would you bitch if the shoe was on the other foot Donnie? I know I would. If I saw some police kill a kid in my neighborhood in that fashion. I would be mad too. Send 20 bullets flying at a child and also into my neighborhood. Could have possibly killed the people they are trying to protect. I'd be upset.

It was weird. The news radio people didn't mention it at all. I'm sittin there like "why do they keep saying the cops were white". I just fail to see how it's an important piece of information.OOch! Didnt know they were sayin all that. :willy_nilly:
If you ever want to worry about history, talk to two different eyewitnesses about the same thing. :smiley24:and as far as eye witness accounts... well they always need to be taken with a grain of salt. It doesn't matter who the eye witness is.
