It really just depends on who is calling. If I'm at home, I just say hello. If I'm at work, I answer professionally. If it is someone I know...then it could be a variety of things

I look at Caller ID every time the phone rings..

Bestie- Hey sweetie.

MIL - Hello

Hubby - What's wrong?

Numbers I don't recognize or come up unknown.- Hello.

My mom - Hey I'll call ya right back.

Besties Daughters - Hey honey what's up?

Etc.. Each person I talk to gets their own little special greeting usually.

When I was a kid whenever the phone rang my dad wouldn't answer it but he'd say "Hello, city morgue. Stiff speaking."

My dad would answer: "City Morgue. You stab 'em, we slab 'em." Dads!

I have caller ID. I usually just say 'hello'.

Unknown callers or Private always get the voicemail.

for the most part, I just answer hello in a straight up voice...though if it's a call i'm expecting, I might answer it sarcastically, like "heyyyyy, what's up buddy?????" or...in the case of a woman calling me, I'll be all cute and flirty..."well hello beautiful" hahaha...
