When someone phones you....

....how do you answer? Just a simple hello? Or something more meaningful?

I always say hello, but it varies depending on who I'm talking to, like if it's someone I'm close to it's a less formal hello. Whereas if it's someone more important (Tutor, Job appliation etc) then it's more formal sounding and direct.

I always say hello, whoever it is.

And I never say my name when I answer the phone. I always wait until someone asks to speak to me before I say anything like that.

I usually just say hello, though the tone or enthusiasm level may change depending on who it is. :ninja If it's my sister I usually say FUJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! or Heeeeeeeeeeeey!!!

I work from home. I look at the caller ID. If it is a business call I answer with my business name. Otherwise just "Hello"

If I know who it is I'll sometimes answer "Hey <insert name here>" or answer with a British accent or something, if I don't know who it is I just answer "Hello"

When I was a kid whenever the phone rang my dad wouldn't answer it but he'd say "Hello, city morgue. Stiff speaking."

My dad has me answering the phone "Pizza Hut". It depends on who's calling. Boyfriend- Hey babe. Mom- Yeah?. Dad- Pizza Hut. Sister- What? Brother#3- Suuup. Brother#2- Howdy. Brother#1- Yo. All other girlfriends- Hey girl.

Depending on how many times I've ignored a call and the ringer continues to call, I'll usually end up answering with hostility i.e. WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?! JESUS H CHRIST.

Numbers I don't recognize or come up unknown.- Hello.

My mom - Hey I'll call ya right back.

Etc.. Each person I talk to gets their own little special greeting usually.

i can see who is calling me so it depends...with good friends i answer with a long drawn out funny "well helllo there" with family its a drawn out 'hey' like the way the Fonz would say it. LOL With unknown numbers i answer with a formal and defensive,'hello'. Sometimes if I am really excited over something i just say 'omg guess what!!!"

in other words i'm obnoxious

If I don't recognize it, I ask " Hello?"

and so on like that, but thats something you got to earn.

any family members ill just pick up and say, "yep?''

anyone else is just basically a hello.
