When kids surprise you in a good way.

I was pumping gas a little while ago. There was a mother & daughter who walked past me to go pay. The little girl was between 2 & 3. Mom had her all dolled up with curls & a dress and cute little sandals.
As they walked by me I turned to the little girl and said, "I like your shoes."
Without missing a beat and with no prompting from mom she responded, "Thank you!"

I was :eek. Never know about kids sometimes they are sharp.:nod:

A little boy, maybe 5 years old, held the door open for me the other day and when I said thank you he said you're welcome. Made me so happy to see a kid being raised with manners.

Gives you hope for the next generation, doesn't it?

DS is good about his manners! im a very proud momma!

if you ask him if he wants something and he doesnt, he says "thanks, but no thank you!" the first time he said it, i was even shocked!

I told my daughter it reminded me of her and her brother when they were little. Manners were part of their upbringing too.

Children are imprinted by so much by age 5. Whether they use what they learned or choose to be a slacker is a conscious decision as they grow up.

my son is only 2 and can read his alphabet and numbers, blew my mind.
I sit with him all the time and read the alphabets to him and he loves to do it on his own. And everyday he shows me new words he learns, its so cute

Jace is like that....he'll talk to anyone one and everyone!! definitely not a shy child! i dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing! LOL

I love little kids with manners, Michael's slacking at the moment, but he lets Amara do the talking for him.

She's pretty good for saying "Please; thank you; No, I don't want that."

When people compliment her in public, she says: "Oh thank you, I'm a princess Amara."
