92 with high heat warnings till 8 Friday night. They opened some cooling shelters at a few local fire halls for folks without a/c. It is brutal out there and not fit for doing much at all. My a/c has been running almost continuous since 9 am. Picked some more berries and trimmed some trees here at the house to aid the airflow around the a/c unit.
92 and 46% humidity..which comes out close too 100 for heat index.
Many claim the index rates it to low...Canada even created a scale of thier own..the humidex scale..which comes out to 106 using their formula.
Mind you these are for the shade and dont even factor in the radiation from the sun..The military has a scale of their own which factors in the sun.
We had a storm come through about 3pm that dropped the temp 22 degrees in 15 minutes. It also set a transformer on fire which melted the fiber optic near Watkins Glen and shut down internet all over up here. Today is to go to 91 and then storms tonight and tomorrow usher in cold and less humid air. 76 on Sunday!
