What have we been up to since I was last here almost 10 years ago?

What's your job title? Had any career changes? Epiphanies followed by quitting your job??

What's your favourite part of what you're currently doing? And what would you change? Do you think you'll stay in your current company for the next 10 years???

Working at the same place but different positions sound great as you can acquire unique skills this way

There are new things to be learned from everything that you do. Some positions I've held have taught me the ins and outs of maintaining inventory, others customer service and generally dealing with the public, supervisory roles I've held have helped hone leadership and judgment, if you have a job that you don't learn anything from, it's because you're not trying to learn from it.

Yeah learning is a continuous process as such we need to keep on learning. We would always get the best off it if we keep at it.

My day job official title is Corporate Operations Trainer.
I've also owned a company since 2012. Been self employed for a bit there, but got another job for additional expenses.

I always joke that I'm the night manager where I work. It's technically true, but only because I'm the only one on my shift. DP0o627.gif

I've been working at the same farm for 14 years and I'll definitely do it for another 10, if I can. Currently on nights doing foal watch. Once the last foal is born I revert back to afternoons/evenings. My favourite part of the job is that I'm doing something physical and I'm working with my favourite animal. I also love that I never have to work mornings. I'll probably stay at this job until either I break, retire, or the farm closes. Given the events of the past year, I might break sooner than I think, but there's always duct tape, right? Gs6N07H.gif

That's not easy work but it's rewarding, your body is going to break on you in most lines of work so you may as well break yourself doing something you enjoy.

I am still self employed. I don't expect to work full-time much longer. 2 years probably.
Any plans for retirement??? Only another 40 years for me 😂 if not more! Life doesn’t seem to be getting less expensive. We’ve had our 11th rate rise in a year 🥵

I don’t think I ever knew you worked on a farm. That’s so cool! Do you have any farm animals yourself?

10 years ago I was working for an insurance company in their charitable foundation and diversity and inclusion.. I loved my job. Thought I’d be there forever 😂 I grew up there.. found out I was pregnant in their toilets.

Then I was made redundant and worked for our state’s parks department trying to set up charity status for them.. it was a pretty interesting experience.. great pay! Great manager. But government is a BEAST. My manager quit and moved to a charity and brought me along..

Where I am now! Working for a food rescue charity trying to end waste and end hunger. I take care of our corporate partnerships, taking care of current, bringing in new partners, volunteering, appeals, events. It’s fun and hard but so rewarding. It’s not hard to connect value to the work I do. I feel incredibly grateful. And come the new FY, I’ll be promoted so my pay will match my last role 😂
