What's your ethnicity?

I think if you're going back past your parent's generation you're being a bit silly. I mean, how far do you go? My family name comes from Scotland, and before that France. The first "Gray" in the UK is thought to have been William the Conquerors mother (the French name being Croy) But we're talking centuries ago...

Both my parents were 100% English, so I'm English 100% too. Not especially proud tho. I mean, what's the point of national pride? Or heretage pride? Seems awfully silly to me.

It's fun to learn where you're descended from. At least for me anyway. I found out I'm related to Queen Elizabeth III through an illegitimate love affair with a servant (servant being directly related to us).

Queen Elizabeth III? So, this affair happened way off in the future?? :O

(we're only on Elizabeth II right now...)

Yeah I suppose it's interesting to find out where you're from. But it has little interest I think after a generation or two.

I'm 3/4 German, and 1/4 English. I know a lot about my German relatives from Russia and hardly anything about my dad's relatives from Ohio, never even met my dad's dad before he died.

Some say I look like my dad and some say I look like my mom, I have blue eyes and blonde hair and was born that way.

My ancestors were Irish, but that was a long ass time ago, I've never been to Ireland, I don't know anyone from Ireland, I don't speak Gaeilge, I don't think of myself as the least bit Irish, I was born and raised in America, I am AMERICAN.
