Back to my thread ....one of the best things I ever did in my life was to move my family out of a bad nieghborhood. It cost me a lot. But in the end it worked out. It was my business. I dont think I have offended Alien. I have communicated with him before. Hes not an idiot. I find him rather intelligent. Sorry.

Cindy I think you took my post wrong. I wasn't responding to anything except your thread title and first post. You asked " what's the best advice someone could give " . What I typed was the best advice I would give anyone especially immediate family members.

Another twist on your responce would be...Never go into a business with a family member...I didnt take it wrong honey....I always leave myself open...as for frogs...mmm...I eat them.

I went for a 4 mile walk and on the sports talk radio they were addressing the problems in Detroit.

I do not see any hope for it ever until parents are held accountable. 2 weeks ago a 12 year old kid shot and killed a 24 year old woman at midnite. Where in the hell were the parents. Or should I ask where was the mother as it seems fathers for the most part are non existent

Until Detroits schools are better the kids have no future. But until the parents hold the school system accountable that will never happen. My wife works in the burbs at one of the best school districts in the country. By a huge margin the superior kids in the district are Asian. It got to be a joke with my daughters when they excelled as to how they ever beat out an Asian for a particular thing. There is a reason these Asian kids are superior and it has nothing to do with genes. It is the parents involvement

You do know that there are kids that make it despite the asshole parents they were provided with, yes? It does happen. I've seen it more than once.

And the other side of that coin...... there are kids who are given every opportunity there is to give and they blow it.... leaving parents scratching their heads or worse.

Not saying you don't make sense with your comments. Just saying whatever it is I said above.
